Modern multi-point door locks
As you turn the key, multiple locks positioned around the edge of the door securely bolt it into its frame. Most commonly found in modern uPVC doors and composite doors, multi-point locks must feature at least 3 locking points but often have 5 or more. Combined with robust door handles and hardware, all our doors feature the latest multi-point locking hardware for complete peace of mind.

The locking cylinder (where you insert the key) should display the heart-shaped BSI Kitemarked logo. This means the cylinder has been independently certified for effective resistance to different forms of attack, including lock bumping, drilling, and picking.

Toughened door glazing
Single glazed doors are easy to spot and even easier to break through. Each of our doors incorporates modern double glazing as standard, with a range of strengthened, obscured and decorative glass upgrades available. As an additional burglar deterrent, laminated glass is included in our wooden doors and uPVC front doors as standard, and our composite doors incorporate, Secured by Design laminated glass as standard.

The most prominent door security test standards in Britain are PAS 24 and Secured by Design. PAS 24 (Publicly Available Specification) is a minimum standard used to assess the security performance of external doors, with PAS 24:2016 being the most recent version*. Secured by Design is the official police security initiative, working to improve the security of buildings. Amongst the many security features our doors can offer, these include:
- Our timber entrance doors are certified to the latest PAS 24:2012 standards with high security features to meet Secured by Design requirements.
- Our Origin aluminium bifold doors include a ‘Secured by Design’ 8 point multi-locking systems as standard.
- Our timber effect doors can be upgraded for PAS 24 compliant.
- Our uPVC sliding patio doors can be enhanced further with Part Q, PAS24:2012 or a Police approved Secured by Design security upgrade.
