How much will it cost to build a conservatory?
If you're wondering what's the average cost of a conservatory, every conservatory installation is custom-made to accommodate your home and its specific needs. Therefore, you won’t find any prices on our website as our conservatory prices are completely bespoke to your project. That said, the price is affected by various factors, such as:
- Conservatory size
- Conservatory style
- Conservatory material
- Amount of groundwork prep needed
- Conservatory roof style
- Glazing type
- Additional extras, like underfloor heating or a supportive dwarf wall
We're often asked 'is a conservatory cheaper than an extension?' Typically, conservatories are more cost-effective than extensions and can be kept warm and cosy all year round thanks to advancements in modern construction materials. Whatever the cost of your new conservatory, we make paying for it that much easier with our selection of excellent finance options.

How long will it take to build my conservatory?
Our experienced surveyor will be in contact within 7 days to arrange an appointment to inspect your home and take detailed information needed to make your conservatory space. Once the survey is complete, our installation co-ordinator will be in touch within 3 weeks to confirm an installation date that suits everyone. Fitting schedules must remain flexible due to unforeseen circumstances, however if everything goes to plan, on average, our conservatory installations take between 3 and 6 weeks.
Get a priceHow big can conservatories be without planning permission?
To avoid applying for planning permission, all single storey extensions must not:
- Cover more than 50% of the size of the original house
- Be higher than the highest part of the existing roof
- Exceed 4 metres in height
Can I view examples of your conservatories at a local showroom?
Yes! Dad has two extensive showrooms based in Fareham and Chichester, where you can view a range of high-performance glazed extensions at your leisure. They’re open Monday to Saturday, 10am-5pm.
