Can thieves easily break into a casement window?
Thanks to their proactive ‘crank’ style opening mechanism and tightly closed sash, there’s very little chance a thief could open a casement window from the outside.
Why do tilt & turn windows open inwards?
Although they open fully like a casement window, tilt & turn windows also open inwards for easy cleaning purposes. Plus, they tilt from the bottom into an angled position, to securely ventilate the room.
What is the difference between a bay window and a bow window?
The main differences are the number of windows used and their overall shape. Bay windows centre around an angular ‘picture window’, with 2 (usually smaller) windows framing it either side. Bow windows tend to be wider than bay windows, typically with 4 to 6 windows that form a curved arrangement.
What is a U-value?
U-values measure how easily heat can pass through building materials; the lower the U-value, the better the insulator. Our envirowindow® window system enables our UPVC windows to achieve U-values as low as 0.8W/m2K alongside Window Energy Ratings of up to A++, also meeting the impressive Passivhaus standards.
